VolunteerVolunteer. Get Involved. Don't Miss a Moment!![]() One of the best, most rewarding ways to be a part of the TWHS Band Family is to volunteer!
Not only does it give you a "front row seat" to your child's Band/Guard experience, it shows that you care about what's going on in their life. It takes a (large) village to keep everything running, and it could not be done without our fantastic volunteers. See below for an overview of some of the various volunteer areas. There are many, many ways to donate your time and talents. All are welcome! A special message from Kelly Bonhomme, TWHS Band Pit Crew Chair
Pit Crew & Props pitcrew@twhsband.org
Sign Up Here The pit crew is responsible for loading, unloading, and staging band equipment at football games and marching band competitions. It also holds occasional workdays for prop construction, equipment storage, and other ad hoc events, usually on a weekend. The crew consists primarily of parent volunteers of band and guard members (not solely the percussion “Pit” band parents). All are welcome!
Chaperones chaperones@twhsband.org
Sign Up Here - Moving a group of 300+ kids from school to stadium to performance and back requires lots of buses and lots of chaperones. It's a great way to get to know the kids and other parents! Chaperones are needed to ride the (school) buses to & from games, and (charter) buses to & from out-of-town contests. Game days can be Thursdays, Fridays, or Saturdays. Whether you can help out once a week or once a season, we'd love to have you "on board"! ![]() Food Crew foodcrew@twhsband.org
Sign Up Here It takes a lot of effort to keep our 300+ band and guard members fueled up and ready to go! Feed the Band provides meals, beverages and snacks on game days and contest trips. Helping Feed the Band on game day afternoons is a great way to get to know the kids. (It's fun to hear them practice too!) Consider volunteering for a couple of hours, once a week or once a season. Even more opportunities are available during the contest trips. We'd love to have you join us!
Uniforms uniforms@twhsband.org
Sign Up Here It takes many hands (and washing machines!) to keep our kids looking spiffy week after week. Consider donating an hour or two to help launder uniforms. During Summer Band, the Uniform Committee needs lots of help to fit and assign uniforms; on game days, they staff the uniform room before and after games, and are on hand at games and contests to make sure the band looks as perfect as possible. They also take care of the concert band attire. It's a great way to get to know the kids! Please consider helping out...many hands make light work! Concessions concessions@twhsband.org Concessions Forms/Info The Band staffs one of the big concessions stands at the Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion at selected performances. Volunteering at the Pavilion is a great way to meet other parents and fans, hear some great music performances, and earn money that goes directly to your band student's account! Email us for the new performance schedule, which runs April - December. This is a fun group! Hope you can sign up and join us.
Spirit spirit@twhsband.org
Sign Up Here The Spirit Committee helps keep the kids hydrated and happy during summer band with popsicles every day at the end of practice. Spirit also puts together the goodie bags and sports bags for contest trips filled with luggage tags, lip balm, pom-poms and more. And the year ends with our recognition of the amazing band and graduating seniors at the Band Banquet. Help and donations are always needed, so please consider volunteering! Other Band Areas looking for great Volunteers!

SportsWare (CISD's Sports Medical Recording Software Service)
SportsWare is a medical information recording system designed for athletes. If your son/daughter will be participating in Marching Band or Guard (or other CISD Club Sponsored Athletic Teams,) they are required to have a current account on SportsWare. SportsWare is the same program we used as last year. Directors will be able to look up a student in Band/Guard members individually to determine if all medical paperwork has been completed. If your student had an account on SportsWare last year, they DO NOT need to re-register this year. Returning parents should simply log in with the same email and password they used last year. Click here to navigate to the SportsWare web site: www.swol123.net Once you've navigated to the SportsWare web site follow the instructions below to log in:
GUARD PARENTS: Please note, when filling out the SportsWare form select Band as the activity your student is participating in. If you are creating a new account SportsWare will review your request and send you an email when they have approved your participation. After you log in to SportsWare all students must complete the Pre-Participation Forms and Medical History form. Please make note of your answers to questions 1 - 6 of the Medical History form as you will be required to complete additional steps if you answer "yes" to any of these questions. Please Note: If your student was in Athletics at McCullough Junior High last year you may use their Physical form for the 2020-2021 school year. However you will still need to complete a new SportsWare form for this year (using your account from last year.) Physicals ONLY students new to athletics, marching band, or other activities requiring a Pre-Participation exam, or any student who answered “Yes” to any of questions 1 - 6 on the SportsWare Medical History form will be required to complete the physician portion of the physical. Any student with a valid physical from 2019-2020 school year will not be required to complete a new Pre-Participation Exam from a physician UNLESS they have answered “yes” to any of questions 1 - 6 on the SportsWare Medical History Form. If a student needs a Pre-Participation Examination from a physician, they may print the form below and take it with them to the physician. **PLEASE DO NOT use last year’s forms.** The forms this year contain changes from the UIL and CISD. 2020 Medical History Form: https://twhs.conroeisd.net/wp-content/uploads/sites/61/2017/06/Physical-Form-2020-21-5-12.pdf PLEASE NOTE: The only **hard copy** that you will turn in is the actual physical document IF your child needs to get a 2020-2021 physical.
