To recap, please make sure you have addressed all the following bullet points:
- Charms - Make sure you have updated your student's information and created a parent record for every household member you wish to receive band information and alerts.
- Financial Agreement/Deposit - Be sure you have read and signed the Financial Agreement and have paid your student's $150.00 deposit to secure their membership in the band.
- Forms - Please make sure that all ALL of the forms including the Band Handbook and the Guard Handbook are filled out. Remember if it says Band it includes Guard for all of the forms. The list of forms includes:
- Physicals - Be sure to review the information regarding physicals and sign up at SportsWare and fill out their forms. Color Guard members be sure to select 'Band' as the activity/sport.
- Merchandise Store - Make sure you have purchased the required Marching Shoes, and Gloves for your Band (not Guard) student. A garment bag, duffel bag, and CLEAR poncho are also required but you have the option to purchase them from other stores if you wish. Percussionists do not need to purchase gloves.
- Guard Store - Make sure you have purchased the required Jacket, Pants, Duffel Bag, and Stadium Towel for your Guard member.
- Spirit Wear - Optional items to consider include vehicle stickers, yard signs, clear stadium bag (required for Alamodome and other venues) and band shirts.
- Volunteer - We encourage you to look through the many different Booster Board areas and fill out the Volunteer forms. Filling out a volunteer form is not a commitment and sometimes the available volunteer spots are filled quickly for one area so volunteer for multiple areas to be sure you get a chance to participate. There are many different opportunities to help out during Marching and Winter Guard Season. Look around and see where you fit in, this is a great way to meet other parents and get to know the kids. It is fun and fulfilling, and you will be able to share these memories with your kids for years to come!!
